image

FEAST Miami brings food and art together to create community. FEAST Miami (Funding Emerging Art with Sustainable Tactics) is a meals-based micro-funding project that consists of a series of vegan pop-up dinners at art venues to financially support new & emerging creative projects. The first FEAST Miami dinner will be held on Sunday, April 27, 2014 at 6pm at Miami Light Project’s Light Box at Goldman Warehouse located at 404 NW 26 St in Wynwood. A minimum donation of $40 per person is suggested, and diners may contribute more as the more funds are collected, the greater the award for the winning project. The meals will be healthfully prepared with organic and locally sourced foods by Chef Loren Pulitzer of Meals That Heal. Ticket includes a delicious vegan and gluten-free dinner and dessert as well as drinks and donation. Limited tickets are available and can be purchased at feastmiami.org.

In March 2014, artists & small arts organizations were invited to present a simple proposal for an art project. A group of panelists will select FIVE (5) finalists to present their project at the first FEAST. The diners will vote for the project to be funded. Projects should be innovative, feasible and impact the community.

FEAST Miami is made possible through the support of the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation through the Knight Arts Challenge and Whole Foods Market. Additional support comes from Black Eyed Susans, EcoMarketStore, Miami Light Project, Miami Social Marketing, Simply Sharon’s, and VeeV. Learn to Veganize Your Thanksgiving
Thursday, November 21 at 7:00 pm

On the Thanksgiving Menu:
Mashed Cauliflower
Sweet Potato Squash Soup with Kale
Simply Sharon’s Cookies
Vegan, Gluten-Free, and Delicious

Chef Loren Pulitzer of Meals That Heal will be doing a Thanksgiving-themed cooking demonstration at Nutrition S’Mart  this Thursday, November 21 at 7:00 pm.

She will be demonstrating how to make healthy twists on some traditional Thanksgiving favorites: Sweet Potato Squash Soup with Kale and Mashed Cauliflower. These dishes are delicious and good for you too. Antioxidant filled mashed cauliflower is a great alternative to traditional mashed potatoes. The soup is rich with beta carotene, better to see all your friends and family with.

All guests with leave with a taste of Simply Sharon’s, Loren’s delicious, vegan, and gluten-free cookies.

Please bring questions about how to veganize your Thanksgiving menu. Loren has all the best methods to create a Thanksgiving meal that even the harshest critics will love.
