This Weekend: SIMPLY SHARON’S by MEALS THAT HEAL at Fairchild’s International Chocolate Festival

Please join Meals That Heal as we participate this weekend in Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden’s 7th Annual International Chocolate Festival. Last year was a wonderful first year for us and we are excited to be back. We will again have a booth selling our line of vegan desserts, SIMPLY SHARON’S. Our offerings include three varieties of baked cookies: cashew, almond, and pistachio. On the raw side of things, we have dark chocolate truffles and mini chocolate ‘cheese’cakes. As always, all items are dairy-free and egg-free (for all of my vegan folks), gluten-free, and grain-free (for all of my paleo folks out there). As Chef Loren Pulitzer usually does a cooking demonstration, she is thrilled to be doing not only one, but two demonstrations—one for the kiddies and one for the adults. On Saturday, January 26th at 1pm, Loren will be creating some chocolate-dipped fruit skewers with the kids. On Sunday, January 27th at 2pm, Loren will be preparing dark chocolate truffles for adults.

Come to the 7th Annual International Chocolate Festival at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden at 10901 Old Cutler Road in Coral Gables, Friday-Sunday, January 25-27 from 9:30am-4:30pm. For more information on the Chocolate Festival, call (305) 667-1651.

Edible Garden Festival at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden

It is time to plant your gardens here in Miami. With our October planting season comes many awesome festivals to help get you and your garden on the way. This weekend Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden is hosting its annual Edible Garden Festival. I have the honor to do my sixth or maybe even seventh cooking demonstration on Sunday at 1:30pm. I love going to this festival for the opportunity to talk and educate about delicious healthy food options. In addition this festival is full of amazing venders selling everything from heirloom tomato seedlings to locally made seasonal sorbet.

Come out to Fairchild this weekend, to learn about South Florida Gardening and taste some quinoa stuffed red peppers with me at 1:30pm.
